Professional Plumbing Course - From £20 per week


This program is designed for individuals who have little or no experience in plumbing. The Professional Plumbing Course offers a combination of both theory and practical training (within an approved training centre - national training centres across the UK) and the necessary underpinning knowledge which is home based blended learning. The length of course depends on which qualification the individual wishes to obtain.

  • Plumbing Induction (industry overview, structure etc)
  • Health & Safety
  • Common Plumbing Processes
  • Key Plumbing Principles
  • Cold Water Systems
  • Domestic Hot Water Systems
  • Cold and Hot Water Systems and Components
  • Sanitation Systems
  • Water Regulations
  • Central Heating Systems

Course Overview as follows:


Plumbing Intermediate Level – Theory modules leading to:

  • City & Guilds 6035: Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Domestic Heating
  • BPEC: Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999

Plumbing Advanced level: Complete Plumbing Professional – Theory modules leading to:

  • City & Guilds 6035: NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heatingg
  • Part P Defined Scope Electrical qualification
  • CSkills/BPEC Domestic Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems Certificate

Practical Training & Assessment: In centre training – 6 weeks

  • Practical training relating to plumbing and domestic heating; components, installation and maintenance
  • City and Guilds assessments in compliance with C&G 6035-11 Level 3 knowledge units
    • Understand how to organise resources within BSE
    • Understand and carry out electrical work on domestic plumbing and heating systems and components
    • Understand and apply domestic cold water system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
    • Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
    • Understand and apply domestic central heating system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
    • Part P Defined Scope training and assessment
    • CSkills/BPEC Domestic Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems Certificate
  • Basic electrical principles relating to heating system components including pre-work checks and lawful limitations
  • BPEC: 1999 Water Regulations assessment
